A British engineer has been charged with murdering his children's live-in, Slovak nanny, police in a quiet Connecticut beach community said on March 31.
Madison Police Chief Paul Jakubson had no comment on local newspaper reports that murdered 22-year-old Milena Pitková was also the lover of her boss David Taylor, 43, originally from Hampshire, England.
Taylor, who was described by neighbours as a "very proper Englishman", is divorced and his two children live with him, according to local newspaper reports. The children, a 14-year-old-son and an 11-year-old daughter, have been placed in state custody until their mother can be contacted in England.
He was charged on Tuesday with first-degree murder and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, Jakubson said. He said police are investigating a possible motive, but he declined to say more.
Police received a call shortly after midnight March 30 from a man who said he had just killed someone. Officers sent to the affluent seaside address arrested Taylor, who has been living and working in the United States for about three years.
