At its session on Tuesday, the NBS bank board approved the central bank’s accounts as of December 31, 2008, and considered the report of an independent audit carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers Slovensko. “The audit was carried out in accordance with International Standards on Auditing and in the report the auditor expressed its opinion that the closing of books expresses impartially - in all important connections - the financial situation of NBS as at December 31, 2008,” said Kováčová.

A report on the performance of NBS management for 2008, and the independent auditor’s report, will now be submitted to the parliament along with the final accounts. TASR
