Two construction companies – Váhostav-SK from Žilina and Strabag from Bratislava – filed an objection with Slovakia’s Public Procurement Office because of their joint exclusion from the tender for construction of the R4 dual carriageway section from Košice to Milhošť, leading to the Slovak-Hungarian border, the SITA newswire wrote.
The procurement office’s spokesperson, Helena Fialová, confirmed to SITA that they had received the objection on May 21. She explained that during the evaluation procedure, the office cannot say who filed the objection.
The Director General of the National Highway Company, Igor Choma, recently stated that the second lowest bid had been removed from the competition, specifically the bid submitted by Váhostav and Strabag. Their subsequent request to overturn this decision had been rejected.
