TWO unknown perpetrators set fire to a car belonging to a staff member of the Slovak General Consulate in Ukraine's Uzhgorod on August 20, according to a story published on the Ukrainian Internet news server www.uzhgorod.net.ua.
According to the report, the car was parked in front of a private house and set on fire with petrol at around five o'clock in the morning. The firefighters that arrived were unable to save the car.
Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Juraj Tomaga confirmed the incident to the SITA news agency, but Tomaga refused to give further details. An investigation was launched into the case.
Meanwhile, Slovakia has asked Ukrainian authorities for increased protection not only of the General Consulate in Uzhgorod but also for the Slovak Embassy in Kiev.
