The Banská Bystrica District Court declared air carrier Seagle Air bankrupt on April 20 after the indebted airline officially admitted it was in default and had filed for bankruptcy, the spokeswoman of the Banská Bystrica Regional Court, Nina Spurná, told the SITA newswire.
The court appointed Vladimír Vanko as bankruptcy administrator and requested creditors to register their claims in the period set by law, which is 45 days from the publication of the court’s decision in the Commercial Bulletin.
Marek Pacový of Ostrava in the Czech Republic became the new head of the board of directors of the airline. Seagle Air owes about €2.5 million in unpaid salaries. It suspended charter flights because of financial difficulties in October 2009 and two months later lost its air transport licence. The employees filed a collective lawsuit at the Office of the Prosecutor General in early April over unpaid salaries and suspicions of illegal activities.
Seagle Air was enrolled in the Commercial Register of the Slovak Republic on September 5, 2001.
