Slovak embassy in Stockholm evacuated after explosives threat

A PACKAGE containing explosives was found yesterday in a five-storey high building within which the Slovak embassy in Sweden is situated, the SME daily wrote.

"We suspected that the package contained explosives, which was confirmed," a Swedish police spokesman said. Experts eliminated the package. Nobody in the building was endangered, according to the spokesman.

According to the Swedish media local police are searching for a suspect who was spotted as running away from the building. The man allegedly threw the package away on the staircase.

Juraj Tomaga, spokesman with the Slovak Foreign Ministry, said that all employees of the Slovak embassy were safe. He said that the Swedish police called in the embassy at around 13:00 asking that people leave the building. By 14:30 they were able to return to work.
