Slovak employees cheat DaimlerChrysler out of Sk278 million

THE SLOVAK employees of DaimlerChrysler Services Slovakia embezzled Sk278 million (€6.97 million) from the concern in a fraudulent scheme that included around 30 mutually connected Slovak companies.

According to the SME daily, DaimlerChrysler told police it suspected fraud and embezzlement in its Slovak operation after an internal audit in the concern.

The suspects, four of whom have already been accused, two of whom are former employees of DaimlerChrysler Services Slovakia, sold cars to companies which stopped paying the leasing installments but kept the cars, or traded with non-existent cars.
