Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák met his Hungarian counterpart Péter Balázs mid-day in New York on Thursday, September 24, ministry spokesman Peter Stano told the TASR newswire.
The talks addressed the 11-point declaration that the prime ministers of the two countries - Robert Fico of Slovakia and Gordon Bajnai of Hungary - signed during their meeting in Hungary earlier in September. Lajčák and Balázs are set to elaborate on the declaration and draw up specific measures based on it.
“I expect that our talks will be a new and positive impetus for both countries, an impetus for fulfillment of this programme,” said Lajčák. Both Lajčák and Balázs are attending the 64th UN General Assembly in New York. TASR
