Hotel Chateau Béla has been declared the ‘Most Romantic Historic Hotel in Europe’ in a competition organised by Historic Hotels of Europe, an organisation based in Paris. The decision was made at the organisation’s annual meeting in Dublin on October 9.
This title is a success for both Hotel Chateau Béla and the Slovak Association of Historic Hotels to which it belongs, as the winner was picked from among 700 hotels in 22 European countries.
The owner of the hotel, Ilona Countess von Krockow said, as quoted by the TASR newswire, that Hotel Chateau Béla was grateful for and proud of this prestigious award and saw it as an acknowledgement of the hotel’s sophistication and romantic environment.
Historic Hotels of Slovakia was founded in September 2009 and now has eleven members: Chateau Béla (Belá), Hotel Bankov (Košice), Kaštieľ Péchy - Lovecký Dom a Park (Hermanovce), Kaštieľ Villa Nečas (Žilina), Hotel Sandor Pavillon (Piešťany), Hotel u Leva (Levoča), Hotel Sebastián (Modra), Hotel Amade Chateau (Vrakúň), Hotel Hviezdoslav (Kežmarok), and Castel Pension & Restaurant (Mierovo). Historic Hotels of Slovakia is a member of Historic Hotels of Europe.
