At the end of April 2010, Slovakia’s social security provider, Sociálna Poisťovňa, reported it had claims against health care facilities for €19.057 million, down €271,100 against the previous month. The social security provider informed the SITA newswire on July 2 that these claims came from fifteen hospitals – four are under the jurisdiction of the Health Ministry and the rest are facilities that have transformed their structure.
The debts of state-run health providers amounted to €9.351 million at the end of April. Their portion of overall debts accounted for 49.1 percent of the total. Compared to March 31, their debts rose by €152,400.
