At its autumn session in Trenčín, the HHE gave out ten awards to hotels from across Europe, appraising the historic hotels in Ireland, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Greece, Norway, Austria, Wales and France according to different criteria in several categories.

The only Slovak historic hotel to get an award is the Hotel Elizabeth from the host town of Trenčín, which got evaluated as the Best Customer Care Historic Hotel.

The Art-Nouveau-style hotel dates back to 1902, and in 2012, its two-year reconstruction ended, the TASR newswire wrote. Then, the name was also changed from Hotel Tatra to Hotel Elizabeth.
