Slovakia's Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák officially received the SISone4ALL software package from his Portuguese counterpart Antonio Costa in Lisbon on March 27.
The package will serve as an access point to the SIS I+ system. This software is the first step towards integration in the Schengen information system, which will enable Slovakia to open its borders to other EU members.
The SISone4ALL solution integrates new EU members into the incumbent Schengen information system. The original plan was to integrate new members directly into the new Schengen information system; however, this plan would delay the entry of new members by several months.
EU newcomers, including Slovakia, are to enter the Schengen zone on December 12, 2007.
