Juraj Schwarz became a candidate for the post of judge at the European Court of Justice of the First Instance in Luxembourg following a secret vote by Slovakia’s Judicial Council on Tuesday, May 26.
Schwarz’s nomination is now due to be submitted to the government for approval. “This is a huge challenge, and I accept this decision with great respect,” said Schwarz after he was approved by all 15 members of the Judicial Council present.
Schwarz, who is currently chairman of the trade collegiate at Košice Regional Court, was proposed by Justice Minister Štefan Harabin, the TASR wrote. The European Court of Justice of the First Instance is made up of 27 judges elected for six years. TASR
