The cabinet of Prime Minister Robert Fico appointed new heads of the Slovak Land Fund (SPF) and the State Material Reserves Administration on April 18 with the land fund to be led by Gabriela Matečná, who replaces Eva Šimková, the SITA newswire reported.
Last week the cabinet recalled the deputy director general of the fund, Juraj Gál, in an effort to deal with what the prime minister has called questionable contracts and the fund cannot conclude further contracts without its deputy director, Fico commented, as reported by SITA.
"There are dozens of suspicious contracts there," Fico stated, adding that the new management of the fund must examine these contracts.
The new chair of the State Material Reserves Administration is Kajetán Kičura. He formerly was the chief judge of the Čadca District Court but former justice minister Lucia Žitňanska had relieved him of this post in May 2010.
