Slovak language and culture summer school starts

SOME 62 foreigners and compatriots from Serbia, Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Russia, China, the Philippines, France, Canada, Italy and the US are participating in the 54th edition of the Slovak Language and Culture Summer School. Launched on July 7, the summer school is organised by Comenius University in Bratislava (UK) and will run until July 25 in Modra.

“Most of the participants are compatriots studying Slovak for various reasons,” said Janka Chladecká, director of the Comenius University Department for Continuing Education, as quoted by the TASR newswire. “They either have Slovak ancestors or have been studying Slovak at university in their home country, or they want to continue studying at a university in Slovakia.”
