The Slovak parliament moved a bill aimed at supporting use of energy-efficient and clean vehicles to its second reading on March 23, the SITA newswire wrote.
The bill would require public procurers and transporters providing services in the public interest to consider energy efficiency and the environment effects of a car's operation during its service life when buying or leasing vehicles of certain categories. They must use either the documented technical specifications of a vehicle or include energy and environmental costs of a vehicle's operation over its useful lifetime in their decisions to purchase a vehicle or in the criteria for assessment of offers.
