The action was in response to an outburst by Slota directed at fellow MP Frantisek Mikloško (a member of the Conservative Democrats) in early March, during a plenary session to discuss the wording of a response to a statement made by Hungarian MEP Csanad Szegedi (Jobbik) in the European Parliament. "Mikloško, you [are the] son of a devil, ugly and disgusting, but we will forgive you, because we see you as a mentally retarded person," Slota said during the highly charged debate.

The SNS leader has 15 days from Tuesday to respond to the committee.
