Slovak police arrest drug dealers, seizing heroin and guns

During the 'Andulka' (budgie) police operation carried out in the Bratislava district of Vrakuňa on July 23, police arrested five people and found about 352 grams of heroin worth €14,200 on the black market, Police Corps president Ján Packa and vice president Michal Kopčík told journalists on July 27, the TASR newswire wrote.

In addition to the drugs, various kinds of guns, rifles and ammunition were seized.

The police have accused three men (ages 29, 31 and 57) and two women (ages 51 and 56) of drug-related crimes. The 57-year-old man was also accused of illegal possession of firearms. The accused may receive sentences of up to 15 years in jail, TASR wrote.

One of the women had been allegedly hiding the heroin in her cellar since May, for which she was paid €100 a month. The other arrested members of the group were allegedly distributing the drugs. TASR
