THE SLOVAK police force is planning a rally for December 3 with the possible support of representatives of the European Confederation of Police, the daily SME reported.
The confederation disapprove of Slovak Interior Minister Vladimír Palko’s decision to demote the head of the Slovak police trade union Miroslav Litva for organizing a protest rally, the first by the police force in Slovakia.
Spokesman for the European confederation Jan Vellenam said that representatives had not yet decided whether or not to participate in the rally in Bratislava.
According to Palko, Litva was demoted for what the minister calls "providing misleading information about the salaries of the police”.
Litva said that the police would protest against the violation of their rights at the December rally.
