The first foreign visit for newly sworn in Slovak President Rudolf Schuster will take him to the Czech Republic on July 7, the Slovak and Czech heads of state agreed during their brief conversation on June 15.
As for his other upcoming plans, Schuster said he wants to meet with representatives of the eight regional capitals and parliamentary deputies to find out more about Slovakia's current troubles and delights. He said he would select his advisors based on expertise and that none of the Presidential Office employees would be from political parties, as they have been in the past. He has not yet set up his team of advisors, he said.
Rejecting offers of a formal presidential residence and a government hotel, Schuster said he plans to live in a 2-bedroom apartment at the Presidential Palace.
