SLOVAK Radio and Slovak Television (STV) remain the most trusted media outlets in Slovakia, followed by the Pravda daily, according to a poll carried out in November by Slovak Radio's media research department, the TASR news agency reported.
The overwhelming leader was public broadcaster Slovak Radio, which enjoyed the trust of 78.4 percent of respondents. STV scored second, with 77.1 percent support.
In the same poll but in a section that dealt only with private media outlets, TV JOJ came out on top as the trustworthiest with 56 percent support, followed by TV Markíza (54.7 percent), and TA3 news channel (51.8 percent). Among private radio stations, Radio Express was the most trusted (56.4 percent), followed by Radio Okay (34.6 percent), and Radio Twist (27.1 percent).
Among Slovak newspapers, all of them privately held, respondents trusted Pravda the most (53.6 percent), followed by SME (47.1 percent), and the tabloid Nový Čas (34.4 percent).
