Slovak soldiers will stay in missions

SLOVAKIA will not react to the recent terrorist attacks in Madrid by withdrawing its units from Iraq, Kosovo, and Afghanistan, the country's defence minister, Juraj Liška, told NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.

Liška told the NATO official that Slovakia has continued to reform its armed forces and the changes include the adjustment of the army to new security threats, such as terrorism, the Slovak daily Hospodárske noviny wrote on March 22.
