A TOTAL of 2,714 secondary school students will have to repeat their school leaving examination in Maths on April 26 after it turned out that some of the tests distributed to schools on April 13 included the right answers, the daily SME reported.
Education Minister Martin Fronc recalled the head of the State Pedagogical Institute (ŠPÚ) Vladimír Repáš over the affair but the minister himself does not plan to resign.
Many students find the minister's decision for so many students to repeat the exam unfair. Some schools noticed the error beforehand and gave out the correct papers.
One parent has already sued the minister over the affair.
It seems the problem may not just be a matter of human error. The ministry's lawyers also filed a criminal complaint against someone from the ŠPÚ that it believes sent the tests-with-answers to schools deliberately.
