Slovak unemployment rate breaks 12% threshold in July

The registered unemployment rate in Slovakia continued to grow in July, reaching a level 12.07 percent, the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Centre (UPSVaR) said on August 18, as reported by TASR. Compared to last year, July’s unemployment rate was 4.6 percentage points higher and increased by 0.26 percentage points from June.

A total of 335,862 people were registered as looking for work, with this number growing by 58.32 percent y-o-y, TASR wrote.
