Slovakia absorbed 52 percent of EU funds by end of February

IN THE current programming period 2007 to 2013, Slovakia has absorbed €6.061 billion from European Union funds until the end of February of this year, which is 52.17 percent of the total commitment of €11.619 billion.

Compared to the end of January, absorption of European Union funds in all 14 operational programs increased by €119.65 million, or 1.09 percentage points.

In an annual comparison to the end of February last year, absorption of EU funds increased by €1.479 billion, or about 32.28 percent and rate increased by 12.79 percentage points.

According to the Finance Ministry due to the possibility of pre-financing from the state budget, beneficiaries received funding totaling €6.287 billion to implement projects until the end of February, and absorption level grew to 54.11 percent of the total commitment. Compared to the end of January, it is an increase by about €92.56 million, respectively by 0.85 percentage points.
