SOME 1.5 million foreigners spent at least one night in Slovakia last year, an eight percent rise over 2004.
However, the average length of stay was 3.2 nights, down marginally from the year before, according to Economy Ministry data.
Robert Kohlmann, president of the Slovak Association of Travel Agencies, said the figures were not encouraging, the Hospodárske noviny daily reported. Kohlmann said Slovakia was not doing enough to attract tourists from countries other than Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic, traditionally the most frequent travelers to Slovakia.
