SLOVAKIA last year granted fewer asylum approvals to immigrants than its Visegrad Four neighbours Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
While Slovakia approved 18 out of 8,151 total asylum applications, the Czech Republic okayed 83 out of 18,037, Hungary 174 out of 9,554 and Poland 291 out of 4,506, the Slovak office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees said on May 8.
