SLOVAKIA is competing for the investment of Austrian carmaker Magna Steyr, which plans to produce 150,000 cars a year in a new central European plant.

After Volkswagen, PSA Peugeot Citroen, and Hyundai/Kia, Magna Steyr would be the fourth big car producer in Slovakia and would see the country rolling out 800,000 to 1,050,000 cars a year in 2008, Hospodárske noviny wrote.
