SLOVAKIA is considering building bio-gas stations, which use energetic plants
as renewable energy resources for energy production.

"The time is ripe to carry out projects that are widely used, for example, in the Austrian region of Gussing," said Deputy Agriculture Minister Ján Golian. He added that EU support for the upcoming programming period of 2007-2013 creates good conditions for such plans.

It is technically possible to build about one-thousand bio-gas stations with an aggregate installed electric output of over 500 megawatts within seven years.
