DANA Farkašová, the dean of the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava, has been elected to the World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Committee for Europe for 2007-2010, the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry informed the TASR newswire.
The vote took place at the 57th meeting of the regional WHO committee for Europe in Belgrade between September 17 and 20.
Slovakia is now able to participate in the UN body's decision-making processes in Geneva, Switzerland.
