SLOVAKIA welcomed the Spanish people's approval of the European Union constitution on February 20, according to the SITA news agency.
The Slovak Foreign Ministry said the "Yes" vote in Spain was a good sign for the common future of Europe.
The Spanish referendum was the first in a series of popular votes on the EU constitution. Nine other EU states will hold referendums on the issue.
Slovakia is one of the countries that will ask parliament to approve the constitution and not put the issue to a popular vote.
