Slovakia keeps job market open

UNLIKE some of its neighbours, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia will not take reciprocal measures to prevent the free access of current EU members to the Slovak job market.

The Slovak cabinet decided that foreigners from the EU would be allowed to work freely in Slovakia although the majority of the original EU15 member states have taken temporary measures to prevent free employment of citizens from the 10 new EU member states.

The only three EU15 countries that will open their job markets to new EU members are Great Britain, Ireland, and Sweden, the Slovak daily Pravda wrote.
