Slovakia lacks flu vaccines

SLOVAKIA will find itself short of flu vaccines in the next influenza outbreak, the daily Pravda reported.

The demand for vaccines is bigger than the pharmaceutical industry can meet. The health service does not even have enough vaccines for the people who need them most, such as the seriously ill or elderly.

There are around one million chronically ill people and people over 65 in Slovakia, but the health service will have only 500,000 vaccines available.
