Slovakia now lower on EU petrol price chart

Font size: A - | A +

Slovakia has dropped one place in the ranking of the most affordable petrol prices in the EU to 11th place, as of July 23.

The drop was not caused by a change of petrol prices in Slovakia, but a considerable reduction of petrol prices in Luxembourg, where prices went down approximately Sk0.90 per litre.

As of July 23, 95-octane petrol in Slovakia cost Sk38.59 per litre. The cheapest 95-octane petrol in the EU was again available in Estonia, and the second-cheapest in Lithuania.

As of July 31, the price of petrol in Slovakia was set to fall by Sk0.30 per litre, while diesel prices will remain unchanged at around Sk37.20 (€1.10) per litre, the tankovanie.sk web site reported on July 30. This means that the average price of 95-octane petrol should go down to Sk38.40 per litre, which is Sk4 per litre lower than a year ago.
