Gašparovič told TASR that he thought the cooperation with Sweden could mainly be in the fields of engineering, electronics, chemistry, wood-processing and pharmaceuticals. The new ambassador praised the economic progress made by Slovakia within the short period since the change in its political system in 1989.

Gašparovič also told TASR that he views Luxembourg as a good friend to Slovakia and a determined advocate of European integration, after he accepted the credentials from the new ambassador from Luxembourg, Hubert Wurth, who is also based in Vienna.
