SLOVAKIA is slow in adopting EU legislation, the European Commission (EC) has stated. Out of 25 EU member states, Slovakia was 23rd of 25 with only Latvia and the Czech Republic lagging behind.
According to the report Slovakia’s shortfall amounts to 99 EU directives, reported the TASR news agency.
The report was published January 27 but uses data as of November 2004.
Slovakia's Deputy Prim Minister Pál Csáky last week assured the EC that the country would markedly reduce the number of missing directives by the end of March.
