Slovakia slow to draw EU funds

SLOVAKIA has so far drawn only 13 percent of Sk44 billion (€1.2 billion) it was allocated in EU funds for the 2004-2006 period. Cabinet ministers, however, are not worried about the state of affairs, the SME daily wrote.

"This amount will rise gradually," Construction Minister László Gyurovsky told the daily.

Finance Ministry spokes-man Peter Papanek also said that Slovakia has been successful in drawing the money from the funds.
