Slovakia to buy back Transpetrol stake

SLOVAKIA will buy back the 49 percent stake in oil transportation route operator Transpetrol which it sold to Yukos in 2001.

Slovak finance minister Ľubomír Jahnátek met with Yukos officials yesterday and agreed that Yukos will sell its stake back to the Slovak government, SME wrote.

The sum Slovakia is expected to pay for the stake remains unknown. However, it should exceed $100 million (Sk3 billion). The first Mikuláš Dzurinda government sold the stake to Yukos for $73 million, which was then around Sk3.5 billion.
