Slovakia has committed to guarantee up to nearly €180 million of the EU loan to Ireland, said Minister of Finance Ivan Mikloš at a news conference on Monday, November 29, the SITA newswire reported.
The total sum of the loan to Ireland will definitively reach €85 billion, as was agreed at the meeting of Finance Ministers of the EU member states on Sunday.
Countries which are members of the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) will guarantee €17.7 billion of this sum and about one percent of this amount is the responsibility of Slovakia.
