Slovakia will send six more members of the Slovak Armed Forces to Afghanistan, as bolstering the Slovak presence in International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission was approved by the government on February 26.
Slovak soldiers will take part in the mission based on a NATO request, the TASR newswire wrote. Their role will be to provide support to communication and information systems at the ISAF command posts as part of the Deployable Communication and Information Systems Modul (DCM-C). There are 291 Slovak soldiers currently deployed to ISAF. The estimated costs for the six Slovak experts is €197,823, with the financial resources covered by the Defence Ministry.
A total of 87,000 soldiers and experts from 49 countries including all 28 NATO members take part in the operation in Afghanistan.
