Foreign Minister Ján Kubiš and Council of Europe (CE) Secretary General Terry Davis discussed Slovakia’s goals as president of the council during a recent meeting in New York. Slovakia takes over the rotating presidency for six months starting in November.
Slovakia's priorities will include focusing efforts on issues facing Belarus, Moldova, and the western Balkans. It will also push for better cooperation between the council and other international organisations, Slovak Foreign Ministry spokesman Ján Škoda said.
