The minister stated that Visegrad Group (V4) countries (Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary) are planning to cooperate more extensively in the area of defence. The V4 countries agreed that they will establish a joint army composed of about 3,000 soldiers by 2016 and are also discussing the possibility of collective purchases of military technology.

“This should not replace NATO, but rather add to it,” Glváč stated, as quoted by Sme.
