Slovakia wins silver; loses match to Russia

After a match with the Russian ice hockey team, Slovakia gets the silver medal at this year's IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. Slovakia lost the final game 6:2 to Russia on May 20.

After a match with the Russian ice hockey team, Slovakia gets the silver medal at this year's IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. Slovakia lost the final game 6:2 to Russia on May 20.

The Slovak national team advanced to the finals after beating their neighbors the Czech Republic 3:1 in the semi-final game. Slovakia owed part of its success to veteran forward Miroslav Šatan, who after 40 minutes into the game secured a lead for his team.
