Slovakia's core inflation speeds to 4.3 percent

Food prices remained the driving factor of consumer price growth in February as they posted a m/m increase of further 0.3 percentage points to 8.6 percent. Core inflation in Slovakia that measures growth of consumer prices with the exclusion of regulated prices, and administrative interventions in the area of taxes thus went up 0.2 percentage points from January to 4.3 percent in the second month of 2008. In a monthly comparison food prices and core inflation rose by 0.5 percent in February, according to the Slovak Statistics Office. SITA
