The year-on-year downswing in Slovakia's industrial output continues to soften. In October, it was the lowest in 2009, at 3.8 percent, the SITA newswire wrote.

The y-o-y decline in September stood at 5.6 percent. Industrial output in October was influenced by a 4.1-percent y-o-y decrease in industrial manufacturing, a 3.2-percent y-o-y decline in generation and distribution of electricity, gas, steam and cool air and a 6-percent growth of mining and exploration of raw mineral materials. Production of transportation means contributed the most to the downturn in industrial output, when it fell by 10.1 percent. SITA
