Slovak lawmakers have resumed their 42nd plenary session on Tuesday, October 27 dealing with an agenda that includes a revision to the law on narcotic and psychotropic drugs and substances, the SITA newswire wrote.
Health Minister Richard Raši is suggesting that the drug ketamine be included in the second group of narcotic drugs beginning in December. The ministry says there has been reported abuse of the drug as well as surging consumption of ketamine. The parliament is scheduled to vote on the legislation on October 27.
The MPs are also devoting attention to three pieces of legislation tailored by Defence Minister Jaroslav Baška, SITA wrote. In the draft amendment to the Act on State Service of Professional Soldiers of Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, the minister has proposed tighter rules for members of the armed forces.
The lawmakers are also expected to vote on legislation previously debated on October 23, including several drafts proposed by Deputy Prime Minister Dušan Čaplovič. SITA
