ONE THIRD of Slovakia's citizens do not trust any politician. The latest surveys indicate that 33 percent of the people do not support any political party.
Distrust in politicians has increased by 7 percent since January. However, the September polls do not reflect the public's response to the latest political scandals.
Pavol Haulík of the MVK polling agency predicts that the number of people who remain undecided about their party preferences will increase.
According to Haulík, the prime minister's Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) is also likely to lose sympathizers due to recent turmoil around SDKÚ boss Mikuláš Dzurinda's attempts to sack the defence minister.
