As of January 1, fees for issuing a passport will probably increase, the private news agency SITA wrote.

A passport issued within thirty days will cost Sk1,000 (€25). If an individual wants to obtain a new passport in a shorter period of time, they will have to pay Sk4,000 (€100).

The new passports will contain various security features in order to prevent forgery, including a special watermark and a protective magnetic strip.
