"In past few years, customers preferred sending SMSs and multimedia messages (MMSs) to making calls during Christmas," stated Richard Fides from Orange.

Despite this, as many as 13 million phone calls were registered in all three operators' networks on Christmas Eve, most of them in the morning. Martin Vidan from T-Mobile said the company registered ten times more SMSs sent on Christmas Eve compared to any other day. Christmas greetings were also spread through approximately 250,000 MMSs via all three networks. TASR
