THE SLOVAK appetite for gambling has been increasing, as Sk26.5 billion (€646.12 million) was spent on gambling last year, which is Sk2 billion (€48.76 million) more than in 2002.
The daily Národná obroda wrote on January 13 that slot machines remain the most popular form of gambling.
In 2003, Sk20 billion (€487.64 million) in winnings was paid out to gamblers.
